Solo traveler paradise

I stayed for 1 night and the people there were super nice! The owner even gave me a ride when I needed to get to the bus stop, no taxis around, just him being a true pal!

It wasn't the cheapest option, but honestly, for what I got, it was still pretty good.

Location: the hotel was not far from Turangi centre for cafes. The place was minutes from Parklands Restaurant, where you can have dinner...

We were offered a spotlessly clean room with crisp white linen, everything was brand-new. Location: the hotel was so close to the beautiful Tongariro river walk, a short walk to Turangi centre for cafes and river opens into lake Taupo.

Clean, cozy rooms with a lovely riverside walk nearby.

Jill at Judges Pool Motel was very friendly and had turned on the heater in our room before we arrived. I especially appreciated the luxurious sheets and the free Wifi. I would definitely recommend this place to people.

Location near to river and also my relatives. Husband of owner couple extremely helpful. Would do anything for you.

The quiet location was refreshing, and the new fit-out provided a lovely ambiance. The overall condition of the furnishings could use improvement.

This is surely the best small hotel, very very nice and welcoming staff, modern rooms. It has great and unbeatable position to many lovely national park walks.

Can’t think of anything.

The units were fantastic. They were large, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hosts Jill & Chris have a wealth of valuable tips and information and are more than happy to share their knowledge with you. Also the motel is away from the main highway with no traffic noise. Of all the motels we stayed in on our nz trip, Judges Pool Motel was the best by far for the price and facilities.

Kitchen amenities made meal prep easy. The electric frypan provided was handy for cooking.

The room felt cramped, especially with a double bed squeezed into a corner. No air conditioning or heating means you're at the mercy of the weather, especially in a colder area. The fridge was off upon arrival, and the thermostat on the electric frypan was faulty, which diminished the experience.

The electric heating made the cool nights comfortable, a vital feature in this alpine-like region.

The outdated room fittings and kitchen amenities detracted significantly from the overall experience. The electric hob had one non-functional element, and there was no microwave-proof cooking dish available.

Exellent room set up, clean and welcoming.

My credit card wouldn't be accepted at check in, and my advice on how to do it was not heeded by the lady at front desk.

It was just an appropriate option for a brief pause in Turangi, good for the money. The air conditioning worked fine in my room,. Bring along some snacks since the dining options nearby are limited.

We enjoyed the warm welcome we received from the hosts at Judges Pool Motel. They allowed us to use their PC to access the internet. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean.
